Scandinavian Design ♥

I have a serious crush on Scandinavian design: fashion, furniture, food, blonde...I WANT ALL THE THINGS. When I found myself in Stockholm and Copenhagen one summer I bought as close to all the things as I could (oops). Oh, and got my hair done in Stockholm - Swedish blonde, of course! We recently had friends stay with us visiting from Oslo and they brought super generous and lovely prezzies. I heart them so much I couldn't help but share.I was so excited when I glimpsed the side of this Lucie Kaas box . I love this pattern and I have the Etsy cart to prove it (exhibit A). This iconic motif is called 'lotus' and was created in the 1960s by a Norwegian designer named Arne Clausen. Somehow it never occurred to me that this pattern was still being produced - I didn't even know this existed! And this mint green is the perfect colour. I especially love the contrast with the bright lemons currently piled in the bowl.Lucie Kaas has a whole Arne Clausen collection if you're interested in seeing more. And if you're more into the vintage designs have a look on Etsy. These kitchen utensils are beautiful too. I plan to use them for salad tossing, stirring, and all purpose mashing. It wasn't until I took them out of the box I realized they have an ingenious slit in the back so you can balance it on the side of a pot or bowl. Simple and functional. Our friends also brought some food from Norway to try and I'm including it here because...the packaging. The packaging. My love of wandering through foreign supermarkets is documented and this gave me a taste of that. The tinned fish design (I believe it's mackerel in tomato sauce) rivals the awesomeness of packaging in Portugal (the world champion of sardine cans). And as for the round tin, I mean who doesn't want a little girl in pigtails on their can of liver pâté?Do you notice or appreciate packaging too? How do you feel about the Scandinavian design aesthetic?
